Its the first day of fall 2014 and in South Louisiana that means getting our gumbo pot out! Are you afraid to "burn" the roux? Well, we've got the answer for you! Our gourmet gumbo mix is the perfect starter for your next seafood gumbo.
Here's how simple it is:
- Add one pack of Denicola's Gumbo Mix to 2 1/2 quarts of water or chicken stock
- Mix this up, bring to a boil then lower heat and let simmer for 30 minutes stirring occasionally
- Add 3 pounds of your favorite seafood - we suggest peeled shrimp and gumbo crabs!
- Bring to a boil, lower hear and let simmer for 45 minutes
- Serve with Rice
